25, 17 and 21 cm high. A white opaque color cased in a blue crystal. The twoo first on leg and foot in clear crystal. Christer Jarenskog was designer for Ryd in a period. But I don't think he is designer for these vases.
Ryd was in operation 1918 - 1971 and 1972 - 1985. It's a quite unknown glassworks in the south part of Kingdom of Glass. I contacted a person who worked many years at Ryds Glassworks and he said that the production of various models often was ordered by department store chains, and then they sent drawings of how the glass would look like. Therefore, it is often difficult to say who designed the glass from Ryd.
Thanks for the information on Ryd Rebessin. I have a few Ryd pieces and have struggled to find much about them.
It's interesting for me too as some of my Japanese small glass is so similar to these cased Ryd vases.
Hi there! Wonderful collection of glass you have. I was wondering if you might be able to point me in the right direction. I have one of the Strömburg glass bowls commissioned by PanAm, I was wondering if you might be able to help me date the glass. It features a T 155 on the side. Any help would be greatly appreciated, Rebessin!
Hi jetranger, and thanks! T155 is a bowl by Gerda Strömberg and launched ca 1940. Classic and simple design. In production to mid 1970s.
