I acquired this amazing pair of marionettes at an estate sale yesterday. Very well made. The maracas appear to be baby rattles. They look to be Caribbean and the house had quite a bit of South American / Aztec décor.
Can anyone shed any light on the origin and age of these little dancers?

Looks like celluloid faces and rattles? I found this as well: http://www.ebay.com/itm/vintage-black-americana-marionette-/151457995497?nma=true&si=rWw5NZpFPXIgJDKSwnamWQlolKM%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557
