I wonder if anyone can help me identify the cut glass pattern of this Fostoria 10 inch feather plume double handled bowl? I also have the matching candlesticks that are cut with the same pattern on the base. Thanks!
how about a side view pic showing profile and handles; why do you say Fostoria?
Thanks TallCakes for the prompt reply. I thought Fosteria because of the handles and there are others online that are clear or etched, but I have not seen one that had a cut pattern.
I meant to add that I posted a side view, too. Thanks!
does look to be Fostoria #2484 Baroque, c1934
Thanks TallCakes! Yes, I agree. I also have the 2484 8-prism candlesticks. I have seen the 2484 etched, but not cut. Seems unique.
you're welcome : ) yes, probably most often seen etched rather than cut; I say likely a 3rd party decorator did the cutting, so might not be able to easily ID the cut design.
Oh, That makes sense. When I look at cut pieces from Fostoria, they are typically dainty leaves or stars, etc. This is big and bold cutwork. If you happen to come across a similar pattern, I would love to be notified. (In Photo 1, doesn't it look like a monkey face?) Thanks again for your help.
it is a very striking cut design, and the first image does look like a face from the way the photo was taken : )
Thanks Weirdpuckett!
