Hello, I obtained a collection of 40+ molding planes, trying to research some of the names stamped into the ends and determine value. They all seem to be in good condition. Any suggestions for doing this research.

Wow, these are a woodworking craftsman's dream come true! Are you planning on using them? I agree with Jacko, the best way to research stuff nowadays is on the Internet. You could also seek out woodworker's forums where those with the specific knowledge and skills may be able to assist you further in valuing them.

The source book on moulding planes is "A Guide to the Makers of American Wooden Planes:, by emil and Marty Pollack.
Also A Field Guide to the Makers of American wooden Planes by Thomas L. Eliot.
Often you will have a makers
      name and an owners name
