These two perfume bottles were “rescued” at Carlos's mother's place not long ago. I don't know anything about who designed them or which company created them (for sure it'll have to be one of the great perfume companies from Barcelona: Puig, Parera, Myrurgia, Dana...). I like the shape, which reminds me a lot of those created by André Ricard for Puig, with its rounded edges cubes, although I am pretty sure he didn't designed them at all... they're not subtle enough for him, lOL).

Pedro Rodríguez was one of the greatest Spanish fashion designers of the 20th Century. I'm sure you've heard of Cristobal Balenciaga, Paco Rabanne or Manuel Pertegaz, but at some point Pedro Rodríguez remains an almost unknown designer -although he's that cult designer only a few know about and totally adore-, even if his career was the longest.

He was born in Valencia in 1895 and died in 1990. He was trained as a taylor and in as early as 1918 he opened his own workshop in Barcelona. In 1924 he started creating his own collections. In 1929 he was well known in Paris. His atelier closed in 1979 as, just like many great designers of his time, he could face the arrival of pret-à-porter. In any case by the time it was closed he was already 84 years old.

      thanks SHARE!

i really wanted to give some publicity to pedro Rodríguez... just like Charles James he's been half forgotten for years, just known by a few. I think his work was amazing and should be better known, that's why I've added the images of the dresses.

Great post, love Spain fashion designers.
Many thanks for the very interesting info and link as well.
Can see a touch of Dior in the bottles too, in the illustration number 4 the Audrey style.
      Saludos!!

Thanks for your love VIOLET and RACER!!!

I'm so glad you like his work, Karen. there are other unknown names in that website you will probably like too... but Rodriguez was one of the very best, there's no doubt about it!
