Appears to be an old "Platform Truck", for moving Heavy Loads. I have used similar looking one's at a couple of my past jobs. One to move engine blocks in a machine shop, and another to move portable HVAC units to be repaired at another job. But, they can be used to move anything that will fit on them, and is not too heavy. Designed to be used on a hard surface, in a warehouse, or loading dock, train station, work shop etc.(imo)

This is cart for a antique stationary hit and miss motor. You can see a example here. http://www.ebay.com/itm/ANTIQUE-LAUSON-HIT-MISS-STATIONARY-ENGINE-TRUCKS-CART-/331372272948?#ht_326wt_847

rocker-sd, All i see in your link, is a pile of wheels and axles that do not even match the cart wheels in question? So, my question to you, is how are you so convinced of this Lauson motor theory? just asking!

Not saying it's a Lauson, but a stationary engine cart. I have seen a lot of them over the years attending Threshing Bee's and have one or two myself. They were made by many different company's, and many different designs. It's height and size suggest Stationary Engine Cart. I would suggest you Google Antique stationary engine and come to your own conclusion.
