I just purchased this item from an estate sale and would like to know more (anything!) about it. I have found others online with differing amounts of paint retention/loss, and a few with intact glass inserts (green or clear) which this one is regrettably missing. Most indicate a stamp of 5580 on the bottom, but I cannot find any mark on this one unless it was very shallow and has worn down to illegibility. Aside from that, I can find no information on an exact date or maker, although some infer that it is French.
The lily pad base is iron and the figures are pot metal. It is roughly 9 1/2" wide and stands 11 3/4" tall.
I apologize for my amateur photos amid the beautiful items on this site and greatly appreciate any insight that any of you can offer.
