I believe she is a composite doll with her hands are peeling and flaking really bad, her body has metal rings with pins for joints. The back of her neck says 1916 L.A. & S. I have found many other dolls made by Louis Amberg, but cannot find this particular one anywhere. Please any other info would be greatly appreciated.

Hi he is a composition doll made by Louis Amberg and Son . Company was based in USA from 1878-1930. I believe your doll was just called a Character Face . They sold company in 1930 to Horseman ,
Your doll because of composition has crazed and paint lifted and this often happened to dolls exposed to dampness . Very Cute and dates 1920-30.
Thank you fore some more info, I thought while trying to research that I had read that Louis Amburg stamped the actual manufacture dates on his dolls which is why I initially thought she was made in 1916, is that not accurate?
I should have typed 1916-3o . The had may have used that date for many years I kind of rounded it off since it may have been made in that year but not produced until later . Molds were reused for long periods of time . I will get out my books and see if He /she has a name also ok .
I appreciate that greatly, I haven't even been able to find a photo or name of a similar doll at all. So if you have better luck I appreciate the help.
