Hi everyone ; ) I purchased this trunk to restore for a good price. I can't seem to find any markings or dates to determine the maker. Any information would be greatly appreciated! Thanks! Alicia

Hi Alicia! Your trunk is European, probably from France, Germany or England. I would look closely at the locks for any writing to determine location of manufacture. The thing I have found about Euro trunks is that they were at least 10 years behind the US. in trunks that resemble US made trunks. I would place your trunk late 1890's-early 1900's, but that is just my opinion. Euro trunks have a lot of tell tale clues, such as smaller nail-heads, saddler nails on the valance, fewer nails, thinner steel, Euro locks, and the biggie, the Iron handles. What is the trunk covered with, canvas? This will look very nice all fixed up, but personally I would lose the hasp (cant tell from the pictures if it is original or not, but it is ugly) and replace with a latch or nothing at all.
      Good luck,
      Jim

Here is an image of a Very similar trunk that was just listed on Boston Craigslist that claims to have a shipping label of 1867 it has an interior label ,use your own judgement ,I have refinished a similar French trunk Jules LaQuerbe Maison Burillion that I posted on collectors weekly a few months ago Item 62 or 63 depending on new posts. There are wonderful grain patterns under that canvas. Jim is correct about the hasp it is ugly and more than likely not original.Good luck with it.
