I found this oil can while cleaning out the old garage at my parent's house. I think the can is made of tin and has a screw-on removable spout. It is a half gallon can. On the back it says: "Just heavy enough for any motor that requires a heavy oil-wine color-designed for both air and water cooled motors. Neither heavy nor light-wine color-designed especially for air-cooled motors. possesses a bright amber color-just the oil for every car-works perfectly nine months. In the year-use the "Z" grade the other three. The value of this oil to your motor will prove a pleasing revelation."
In I don't have any idea of it's age, but have heard that it is possibly from Marshalltown, Iowa. Any information, particularly about it's value would be appreciated.
I have the same tin. I found in a 2001 Antique price guide listed for $2200.00 in good condition. I love the graphics. I would guess that it dates in the teens or 20,s.
$2200....not in that condition! Rare can though.
I do have one but yours is WAY nicer :).
