Whoever coined the expression, "Don't spend it all in one place" probably hadn't seen an object quite like this one. This captivating decor comes up so rarely, that when I got the chance, I just had to find a way to make it mine. A few months and several eBay sales later, it has finally made its way home to me.
Ausführung 141 came in three different color combinations - this one is steingrün (stone green) with neurot (new red), with the new red top layer spreading into the stone green beneath. Six applied leaves and twigs with silver berries or pearls wrap around the neck. The rim is fire polished, and the pontil scar is ground away and finely polished. The surface is so reflective that I had to edit out the image of my hands and camera from the photos. The reflectiveness makes the piece seem opaque - it is not. From the inside, the pale stone green is somewhat translucent - you can see right through it. The bar at the bottom of the pattern drawing is about six inches - this vase is about 3.75" tall, and about 5.5" wide.
Production number II-8205 is also known as 346/3404, a commission for Max Emmanuel & Co., London. Paper pattern scan in the last photo is from Loetz Series II, Paper patterns for glass from 1900 to 1914, by Jitka Lnenickova.

A very rare decor indeed! Congratulations on a fine addition to your collection. You also described it perfectly. You don't see the translucence of these pieces in most photos.
