Earlier tonight I picked up these two "not so mint condition" menu boards from a collector who is slowly selling off his collection of old signs. I was lucky another buyer didn't show up, so I got the call.
I thought I would not include menu boards in my collection because of the large blank space they take up, but when I saw the artwork for the 1941 sign, I had to have it. I made a last minute call to have the 1953 sign join me on my ride home. Both made in Canada signs for under $350. The bend crease in the '53 doesn't bother me a bit.
Thanks for letting me share.
Have a great weekend fellow lovers of (mostly) all things Coke!
Super Finds there CK. Nothing goes better with Coke ...... than Coke!!
Chalk up another nice score, CokeKid!
I like these menu boards. Neat to think a waitress may have filled out the daily specials in 1941. I'm sure the food cost much less and tasted better then.
Thanks 'rose', 'D_N', and 'Edison' for the comments, and everyone for the "loves". I hope I can purchase other items from the seller. Nice guy with a nice growing petroliana collection. Of course I will post anything I get from him.
