This is one of my favorite finds ! I absolutely LOVE the colors and the pattern. I found this in the midwest about 15 years ago in a second hand shop. I have never found out anything about the Maker Marks on the back or the signature. If anyone recognizes it, I would love to know. It is hand thrown bowl, hand cut pattern with Double "R's" back to back on bottom, along with the RD ? signature.
I added a better closeup so you can see the beautiful detail and colors.

One of the longest running American Art Potteries was founded by Artus Van Briggle. Born to artistic parents in 1869, the Van Briggle family lived in Ohio, one of America's hotbeds of ceramic design. At the age of 17 he moved to Cincinnati, Ohio, where he decorated china dolls and attended his early art studies. After a stint at Avon Pottery, Artus became employed at Rookwood. His skill and talent were recognized by the founder, Maria Storer. She became his benefactor, even sending him to Paris to study art

SEAN68, Oh believe me . . . I have had this piece going on 15 yrs...I have searched and I have close to 20 pottery books...nothing so far...I just hope to run across the double R mark some time, All the Rookwood Pottery marks are RP not the RR, maybe it is a specialty piece. Let me know if you run across it !!
