~ C. 1858 Rare Bohemian Flint Overlay Cut To Clear - Possibly Harrach ~

Thick, opaque white overlay, w/ distinguishable hand-cutting marks, seen in the lenses. Unmarked
Quite exaggerated arc cutting, in the lenses of both the font shoulder, & base perimeter.
    Honest & respectful base-wear, commensurate w/ age, [1850 - 1865].

It is conclusive, that this piece only accepts, Kosmos #10 or W&W, side-draught burners, directly corresponding to the lamp's 1 1/4" ID [inside diameter] brass collar.
    Actual dimensions: 10.25"H x 5.5" base-width x 5.5" font-width.
VERY HEAVY & very high-pitched, tap ring.

    Greetings, fellow collector!
I do have a newly emerging lamp group, dedicated exclusively to fine & higher-end, Victorian era ONLY, fluid-burning lamps.

The core focus of this special-interest group, is to showcase exemplary examples, of 19th c. lighting, for educational & knowledge-sharing purposes.

    * MISSION STATEMENT *
"To feature the finer fluid-burning lamps, inclusive to the Victorian era - fitted with their respective, age-appropriate trimmings, & presented in their native, [fluid-burning] state."

Thus far, we are the only forum, which upholds this higher-bar standard of integrity.
We are also the only group, to date, that is specialized, in the 1837-1901 timeframe.

I would like to invite you to join us.

I am hoping to confirm attribution, for this example. I have been advised, from a knowledgeable Bohemian Glass group on FB, that any sort of publication, which depicts any pictorial reference to these lamps, simply doesn't exist, as this info was never compiled.
There is a comprehensive reference book in print, which collectors of Bohemian glass, consider a must-have, but there are only very few lamps shown.
However, those who are well-versed on the subject, expressed with confidence, that this lamp is very likely Harrach, & not to expect to find documented attribution.
As for the age of this lamp; the date range I provided, is deemed accurate. Much of the fine originals, were produced relatively within the same period; c1850-c1865/70.

Beautiful lamp! Could be Boston & Sandwich Glass. I picked up something similar just this week with the same "double overlay" technique. I, too, am trying to get positive verification of origin. Good luck!

I have a similar lamp, an Italian antique glass expert believes it was produced by the Moser glassworks
