Remember those old Warner Bros. Studio Stores in your local malls in the 1990's? Around 1992 I was a big Bugs Bunny fan (not sure why) and I loved that store. The cel animation art gallery in the back of the store, the constantly repeating videos of old WB cartoons, the other Disney Store wannabe stuff that they had strewn about.
These cufflinks were a high school graduation present from my Mom. I graduated in 1996 and she got me these and a few other things. They actually worked for a few years, but then the batteries died and I never got them replaced. I need to take them to a watch/jeweler at some point soon, as I would not be surprised if they are corroded by now.
These links have a pretty thick case, so they fit best in a looser fitting cuff than some others.
My mom passed away in 2005 so these obviously have inherent sentimental value built into them. I haven't worn them in several years. Once I get those batteries replaced, knock wood, they will tick tick once again. :)
Oh Wow -- CLOCK Cufflinks!! And Bugs Bunny!!
I never saw ones like this before!! I hope kerry checks there out. I wonder IF he has ever seen some like this.
Must be a little hard to wind the clock up IF you have big fingers....LOL
Love this Post !!
Thank you! Yes, winding would be a challenge. Fortunately, they are battery operated, but I have never replaced the batteries. I really should. Would like to see them functional again. :)
A little Epilogue to this post:
I finally found a jeweler that I trust and I brought him several things to repair and fix, and these cufflinks were included. He replaced the batteries in them and for the first time in nearly 20 years, they are fully functioning!
I have worn them to work a couple times when feeling saucy. Glad to see them ticking. :-)
I have a set of these never worn still with lens protectors on them.Would anyone know what they are worth?
