I believe this is some type of Native American piece found in a field where we found many other types. Has anyone seen anything like this? Can you identify it and it's use?

Pestle? As in mortar and pestle, just a guess... :)
This looks more like a naturally formed stone.

It may be both naturally formed and so was chosen to be used as a tool because it was so close to the form of tool that is often seen in the Southwestern area:
