The first image is a KTF Philippe rhodium plated running horse. The next images are my running horse. I am wondering if this could be philippe prototype? The design is a little rougher, pave set rhinestone and invisible set baguettes. The mane is different. It's unmarked except that on the tail is scratched the numbers 1694151. Hmmm? It's not a patent. Although, maybe it was a tentative patent # that was never used, since that patent # is from 1928.

Can anyone give me more information on this piece. Particularly it's differences from the KTF horse?

Thanks, just wishful thinking. I suppose the truth probably is that no one has any information beyond what is already out there. I would just like to know what to call it if I do decide to sell it, and what it's worth.

Here is a question to start with: when were the first pieces pave set? By whom?
    9. Jewels Jewels, 10 years ago
      That's a good question?

Oops, that's a good question! (So much different with a question mark, sorry)

Lovely. Are these prize pins of some sort?
    12. gardinerth, 10 years ago
No, just high end costume jewelry of the time.

Thanks for the bump, Jewels. It still looks to me as if my pin is possibly a prototype of the later pin. They are from the same mold except that the mane and tail have minor changes

Did you ever get any info on your brooch?
    14. gardinerth, 10 years ago
Nope. I'll just hang onto it for a few years, Maybe I'll run across some more info in that time. Thanks for ashing.

...Interesting post, but have no clue!

The only thing I can add is that the horse looks to be a standard-bred Harness Trotter Race Horse (not a Pacer ).....as if that helps any.....LOL

It may help in the future if I find more info in the future, thanks.
