This brooch was being sold as an Art Nouveau item, to me it screams Bernard Instone, probably made in the 1930s. There is a Silver stamp but unfortunately no makers mark, which was common with Bernard Instone.
I love the way the silver leaves are entwined along side the Amethyst. There are 15 cts of Amethyst in the crescent shape brooch. It weighs 17 grams and measures 45mm by 45mm.
The Amethyst is known as the Bishops stone and is still worn by Catholic Bishops today. The Amethyst symbolises, piety, humility, sincerity and spiritual wisdom.
I would like to know if anybody would agree that this brooch is Bernard Instone.
Many thanks for looking
I think, what I really want to know if I got this brooch right with Bernard Instone.
Many thanks
