This is a highly decorated piece from the 20s or 30s [when they stopped producing]. It has the typical Awaji stamp from that period. it's in beautiful condition - late arts and crafts style. it's a nice piece! i picked it up on ebay and it's from Thomas K. Libby - the premier collector of Awaji Ware.
Just beautiful. The glazing really reminds me of early Moorcroft...same time period I guess.
It's a lovely piece. The shape is just gorgeous.
Thank you racer4four! it does remind me a lot of Moorcroft. i hadn't thought of that!
These are rarely seen! FABULOUS!
thank you vetraio50! i was really taken aback by it. it is very unusual for an awaji piece.
Very beautiful, I really love it!!
thank you Virginia.vintage!
Awesome! Enjoy it!
Could you post a better picture of the stamp? I don't think I've ever seen one.
it's not very clear on this one, but i can see it. it has written in a semi-circle 'made in japan' and there's a diamond imprint.
thank you upstatenycollector!
