I spent a whole SEVEN DOLLARS on this set. She wanted $10. I countered $6 and we landed on $7.
Yeah, I know in the hardcore collectible market, $300-$600+ is common for links by Georg Jensen, Louis Vuitton, Gucci, and others, but for Vegas swap meet fare, spending $7 on one pair is a lot. My usual price point for vintage or even modern links at the swap meet is usually pretty well fixed at the $2-$3 mark tops. Sometimes $1/pair of the seller doesn't normally sell links.
But these links were in very good condition, good quality, and quite unique. Egyptian, right?
I have no idea. Whatever they are, I'm happy to add them to my collection and have them don the title of most expensive pair of cufflinks I've ever gotten at the shopping Mecca that is the Swap Meet.
Good negotiation! :D
Haha thanks! I'm heading back there in a couple hours. We'll see what they've unearthed this week.
After further research, I have been able to ascertain that the profile pictured is of the Egyptian Pharoah Nefertiti, who preceded King Tut.
3000 years later and her image is on cufflinks for sale at a Las Vegas swap meet. How many of us can predict that will happen to our profile?
I wear them with prude. ????
Please excuse the "????" My phone adds that, at random, to my posts sometimes. I have no idea why.
