TheMystery…
(1 item)
About 4in. long.soft metal.few nicks from use.otherwise nice.had it for years and never could depart with it.I got it from my granny along with some other silverware, but this one appealed more than the rest.
What do the markings on the back say?
Style is typical of American coin silver spoons of the 19th century.
Coin silver is less than sterling but only minimally-- .900 vs. .925 and was often made from melted coins (hence the name).
The markings will help to ID the maker and can have a impact on values-- Southern makers are desirable.

I can't understand all of the markings on the back. What I could make out said Norton & Co.

Need help making out the markings on the back. There's a star and two other pictures that I can't make out.
