bronze look resin statue of a miner

found this at an antique shop and bought it thinking it was bronze or metal, as it was so heavy,turned out to be resin and has a makers stamp,no regrets as i liked it at first sight,would love to know more about this piece,i suspect its an american pece,thats just me stating the obvious,lol.
