    Material - Coal
    just over 7" tall (with stand)
    Signed-1978 GG on side of statue and George Gosdock 1978 on wood stand.
    Found this in a flea market in South Hill, VA today..
    Will add to my other small statue's.
    I assume he was a coal miner.
    Love this piece.

      I have several coal statues purchased in WV around the early 80s. Yours look unusual and is probably older - our were mass produced as souvenirs.

      Very cool !! I live next to a railroad and find quite a few large pieces of coal. Which I had the artistic talent to carve something recognizable .
