This vase went up for auction recently. I fell in love with the colors and texture but was unwilling to pay the minimum they were asking. After going unsold, I contacted the auction house and made a lowball offer. To my surprise, the consignor accepted. I know nothing about the maker but have been told it may be Kralik or Poschinger. If anyone has information regarding the technique used, the maker or when it was made, I'd appreciate it.

Hi Rick, what a gorgeous vase! Just based on my experience, I wouldn't say this is Kralik in feel - it is extremely iridescent, and I would personally lean more towards Fritz Heckert (Marmopal? here's an example: http://www.collectorsweekly.com/stories/80960-fritz-heckert-design-by-otto-thamm-pro) or possibly Poschinger (but I think it is a bit too 'shiny' for them, too...) Just some thoughts. :)

Thank you inky, vetraio50 and Michele. I can definitely see the similarities between mine and the Heckert piece. The sheen is the same, and it appears to have the same textured surface. Thanks so much for the link Michele!

After taking a look, I agree with Michelle. Looks like Heckert.

Thanks for the loves Lee, czechman, sklo42 and smiata. Can anyone hazard a guess as to when it might have been made?

Fritz Heckert made this c1903/04. Shape number Th 218, was made in three sizes: 9 1/4 in, 13 in and 17 1/2 in. Marmopal decor.

Wow, thanks so much for the info glasfreund! Mine is the 13". It's great to know it's Marmopal. I felt good about that after comparing mine to Tony's in the link Michele posted. I appreciate your help in helping I.D. it.
