A friend who knows I collect these sorts of things salvaged this off the curb from a pile of garbage on their walk to work one day. It's in near perfect condition and still works. The roll of paper was even there when I received it.
I haven't started to clean it up yet so the photos show it just as it looked sitting there waiting for someone to save it from the dump. How I wish the Underwood typewriter in one of my other postings was as well taken care of!
In my online research to learn more about it I came across a fellow collector who sent me some high-res photos of an original comptometer oil bottle. Look for photos of that in one of my other postings.
I don't know how "portable" it would be as it's quite heavy and awkward to move or carry around. I guess in its day "portable" was relative to other machines which may have been "immovable".
