I restored this small steamer about 4 years ago. I found it at a peddlers mall for $10.00, but it was in really bad condition. I ended up taking it apart and replacing the canvas covering and all of the binding with leather and refinished the slats. The hardware was fairly rusted. So, I just took it down to the gunmetal gray.
It's actually a couple of shades darker than the pics show. But yes, it is a dark shade of pink, Strawberry Fields to be exact (my Wife chose the color). I sealed the whole trunk with a few coats of satin polyurethane.
I built a tray for it and relined the interior.
Not really one of my favorites, but it was the first small steamer I ever restored. Just thought I'd share it.

I love it brother.I sold one similar only in dark brown about 5 years ago,my daughter has the one for her shoes that I posted a while back,It one of my favorite size trunks not to big. Hey !want your opinion if the trunk sherwood trunk just posted yesterday (Pebbled Tar trunk) is the same trunk as page 41 of Paul Pat Morse book, are my eyes going!
Thanks Drill! That trunk that Sherwoodtrunk posted certainly looks exactly like the one on page 41 of Paul Pat Morse book. I'm looking at it right now. Even the sticker is in the same location. I'd have to agree with Jim on that one. If not, it's a very close twin!!
Thanks, I thought it was the same one.
Thanks for the loves!!
