I found this box of skeleton keys at a local swap meet. The seller wanted $3 each for them but when I showed an interest in all them he sold me the whole box for $25. It wasn't until I got home and counted them that I realized it was a really good deal for 44 keys (a bit less than that if you don't count the low-quality ones).

Now my challenge - that I refuse to accept - is to track down all the locksets they open!

I have always, always bought old keys. I don't need them but someone else does. They are also great swap bait and usually pretty inexpensive.

Phil, I'm still looking for an old bookcase for my collection of old "rib-spined" books I keep buying at flea markets. Ideally I'd like to get a barrister's bookcase (with the sliding glass fronts) but so far the few I've come across have been way beyond my pay scale!

Fhrjr2, I don't really need the keys for anything either but I tend to be strangely possessive towards them. My precioussss! I don't know if I could give them up, although that depends on what was being swapped I suppose. Maybe I'll dangle the bait some day and see what nibbles I get.
