This is a 1/2 scale Hew Holland Hit/miss that I purchased several years ago to run a hay baler at engine shows. The baler made hay & straw bales about the size of a loaf of bread. This little New Holland ran the baler just fine.
The single flywheel is about 14" in dia. and the cast iron engine is about 18" in length.
Note how New Holland made the water hopper (which cools the engine) tapered narrower at the bottom. Water freezing in the cooling hopper was one of the biggest causes of the hoppers cracking due to freezing in cold weather. The water would expand when frozen and crack the water hoppers.
This was no problem for New Holland because of the wedge tapered shape of their water hopper. If the water froze in their engines, the tapered water hopper would just push up as it expanded like an ice cube in a tray. ......... hotairfan
