Thought I would post this for *Manikin* since I am aware that she has family roots in Saskatchewan that lived around a very small Town on Bounty. Bounty is located in the FERTILE VALLEY R.M. ( means Rural Municipality). Thus this Small town Fair was known as Fertile Valley Fair (aka Bounty Fair). The Agricultural Fair had 4H of showing Cattle, and horses. There was a Fair book where you could also enter in your Baking, sewing, knitting, wood working items, pies, flowers, crop samples to be Judged. It was your basic small town fair that would pull in the community from miles around. The town of Bounty only had about a population of about 175 people back then -- but more than 4000 people would attend the fair for the only ONE day it was on!!
This is an old Beanie Cap (hat) from back then. I think from around the 1970's era as people who were working (helping) with things, or directing traffic -- would wear these. Found this in some old things here. Guess kinda an old way of advertising too...?
Great old item in SUPER MINT SHAPE, with Bright colors!!
For You to see Manikin......

@ manikin -- I would think they did attend. I am pretty sure!! I know some of them did via their last names.
Email me IF you want some suggestions as to getting some mail out to them ...etc
@ PhilDavidAlexanderMorris -- Yup, got snowed dumped big time - didn't we. Then the chilling weather (down to -43 C ) with windchill LOL. Yes that is MINUS. Today it is only about - 2 C.
Yes those old small time Fair that would take in the whole community. It was a big thing in their day. Ladies would be baking their cookies, pies, breads, cakes for the Fair -- to enter them into. Men would enter in their samples from their fields, wood working, metal working, leather working....ETC. ETC. I think I still have some old entry books here somewhere. I used to help run a booth there, and my Mom did the books and the entries for the fair (so I helped her). There was gymkhana, showing of cattle and horses.
In the later years (1980's) -- Tractor Pull was brought in, and of course the BEER Gardens.
Yes, that same town now only a population of about 12 !!!
oh I love this very much!!!
