I bought this because I liked it but was always puzzled by the decor. Yesterday I came across a CW post by Jericho in which he said he called the decor 'Cased Pelleton' though it didn't really have a name. He explained it was made of cased rod chips rather than cased confetti, which I assume is what gives 'spatter'.
Height 12 cm./4.75 inches Diam. 10 cm./4 inches
Don't know but looks good.
Thanks Ian......a little different!

your very welcome sklo!!
I have seen this shape a lot, but never seen it legitimately identified, the ones in spatter decor are pretty common, but this one probably is much less common.
Nice one!
Although this is similar to a shape shown in a Butler ad of what I believe to be all Kralik pieces, it is not the same shape. I have never seen this shape in a décor which would allow for a solid attribution. This décor is unusual, and quite striking. Nice example!!
Thank you both, MacArt and Welzebub, you did indeed know better and have kindly taken the trouble to inform me.
Lovely colour.....:-)
Thanks inky....I've rather gathered you love blue :-)
Thanks petey and czechman
Thanks, CindB, for the love and the lovely comment!
Beautiful! Lake district is also very beautiful!!
Thanks, Elisabethan, for the love and your pleasing comment. The Lake District is beautiful, when it's not hidden by mist or rain! Perhaps you had good weather:-)
Thank you so much, Alfredo, Terrabettis and surfdub
It's shows a shape and color I associate welz but I don't think that's nearly enough for positive ID. Would love to see it next to frog pieces from both companies! Great piece! Confetti pieces were made with bits of glass (sometimes reused from any other glass product). When I visited a modern glass studio in
South Bohemia the artist had many bowls of colored glass and could drop hot base glass gather into them or sprinkle the gather with bits of glass. The pelleton glass decor are just glass rods or canes. So based on the decor is could have been anybody
Nice to hear from you. I buy cheap rose bowls for the frogs and two hours ago I started clearing them out. However I noticed that one had a bright white lining, blue spatter and clear casing whilst still remaining relatively light in weight. Solely on the basis of the vivid lining I thought Welz and decided to put it with my blue spatter. Next thing I notice......its the same shape as the vase you're commenting on here! Welz is my absolute favourite glass so I'm very interested! I could post it beside the one with the same shape. Let me know if that would help ,None of my Welz rose bowls have this shape.
Re-reading I have both Kralik and Welz rose bowls......what would you want to see.....rims, bases?
"Welz is my absolute favourite glass so I'm very interested! "
I have to tell you that it puts a smile on my face to see things like this. It makes spending the last 7+ years researching their glass completely worth the time invested.... It thrills me to death to know that I have contributed in some small way to a field of collecting I enjoy so much.
