    I bought this lovely vase/ planter because of the gorgeous colors in the glaze, but I would like to know more about it.
    the marking on it only identifies by a number ( 409) and "made in the U.S.A." inscription.
    Any info will be very much appreciated!!!

      Might be Shawnee pottery?

      Jewels,
      Thanks for the suggestion. I actually had forgotten about Shawnee pottery, do I will try digging in that direction!
      Hope you are having a good morning so far :-)

      Thank you Jenny! I'm good! You as well, hope you are having a good morning! It could be Shawnee, or I think there were so many usa potteries that you might not be able to trace. It is probably 1950's

      Jewels, Thanks so much f or all your fun feedback!
      Aghcollect, thank you so very much for the maker possibility. I haven't had a chance to check, but you replied with the brevity of one who isn't guessing, so I'm sure your right!
      With appreciation,
      Jenny

      This figurine #409 is shown on two different Maddux Pottery Collector sites in two different color schemes, one the same as yours. Here is one on 'bay' although the number in the heading (#406) is wrong, the number on the picture is #409;
