This is a curious item to me. I can't be certain whether it's an authentic vintage/antique lamp or if it's just some reproduction knock-off. I also haven't been able to determine the maker or style and I've never seen a similar style lamp with the scalloped edges.
I'm also not sure if this is a banker's lamp, a piano lamp, or maybe just a table study lamp? It has a nice patina although the brass surface looks like it may be lacquered.
It also appears to have the original cloth-wrapped wiring and maybe even the original plug. It measures 6" diameter at the base, 13.75" tall, and the lamp shade is 4.25" wide by 8.25" wide.
I paid $15 for it at a thrift shop and it would be great to find out if this item is just a run-of-the mill lamp (or reproduction) or perhaps something special?
Better pictures get better opinions, but this does look old. Can we get a picture of the base from the bottom and possibly the bulb holder? That is a very cool lamp!
Very nice and yes it looks old to me ,the cord appears to be cloth wrapped is it ?
Have added a photo of the bulb holder. Doesn't look like anything special to me. The bottom just has a piece of felt-covered cardboard crammed into it - sort of looks like a poor fix-it job happened at some point.
Yes, the cord is cloth-wrapped. There's more info in the description.
love that shade!
