Posted is a miniature lathe made by the ManSon Mach. Co. It is capable of doing everything that a full size lathe can do, yet it is less than 9" long. The accessories include a 4 jaw and 3 jaw chuck, collet set, centers, face plate, and lathe dogs. It is powered by a 110 vac. motor
It has power feed, cross feed, and even has a fully functional tool post and tool holder (the tool bit is 1/8" square). The piece of brass that is chucked up and turned on the one end was machined just before these photos were taken to show you it's operation.
It looks like a Lablond engine lathe, only in miniature. ....hotairfan
I need one of those in the model shop.
Great little lathe but lacks the ability to cut threads.
You are absolutely right about that walksoftly, I thought of that when I was buying it. It also can't cut tapers. Aside from those detriments, it is a well made lathe that cuts with a fine feed and I am just tickled with it's size. If I have to cut threads or tapers, I also have a 10" South Bend, fully equipped, and I have a Shurline with digital readout for model work . .............hotairfan
It's a cutie & well made by the looks of it!
Beautiful!!!!! The attention to detail is perfection, and I believe they did make a factory thread cutting add on if so ordered. Thanks for sharing it!

Thanks Izenglish, I'll have to see if I can find a thread cutting add on. ...
