I bought this at an estate sale of a former antiques dealer. She had about four machines that had been outside in a barn-type building. It was in really bad shape but I could tell that the wood was in good shape with the exception of a couple of nicks here and there. It had a coating of black paint on it. When I stripped that off, I found the beautiful tiger oak on the top. We have finished the cabinet and the base but are still working on the machine but don't know a lot about it. We totally disassembled the cabinet and the base to restore them. I believe the machine is a 1917 model based on the serial number. We use it as a table in our house but I am planning to get the machine running so that it could be used also.
Wow!! You did an amazing job bringing this back to life. Just beautiful!!
