Help with Identification Chess Set

I am trying to figure out the origin of this chess set and I haven't been able to do so yet. I am hoping someone here might be able to help me figure this out. Here is the info I do have. The King is 4 1/2 in tall, the Queen 4 in tall and the board when opened is 16 x 16. The detail on the board and pieces is hand painted and the inside where you store the pieces shows traces of very old crumbly foam but its mostly disintegrated. I appreciate any help you can give me.
