    I pulled this off an old car with my fathers help when I was around 10 years old. It was an old rusty red station wagon that was sitting out next to a barn on my dad's friends farmhouse. Years later my father and I went back to visit the friend and found the car was gone he had scrapped the old 1961 Corvair Lakewood station wagon. I did some research and they only made the Lakewood for one year and only sold around 25,000. They were rear engine and also had trunk space in the front of the car.

      This car script pretty much started my hood ornament/car script collection! My dad would make hot rods and we were always going to junkyards and I would ask if I could take hood ornaments off the cars and they would usually let me.

      Ditto,This was my first collection when I was young.Only they came from our own junkyard!
      I should post some of them(all chevrolet) some are displayed in my garage.I guess that's what started this collecting addiction I have!lol

      That's a vin # you see on the back of it. You could find out what number of the production is was. Too bad they trashed it...
