I am really pleased with this pair of highly iridescent cobalt blue crackle vases - I think they are just lovely! :) They are 6 1/8" tall, and have sterling silver rims by Henry Perkins & Sons, London, with a hallmark date of 1925. This doesn't necessarily date the glass itself, as the rims were often applied at a later date for sale in England, but it does give a good rough idea of the age of the glass.
I have seen other vases in the same shape and color identified as Kralik, but I actually feel these may be by another maker. I have quite a few Kralik crackle vases, and they all have a soft matte iridescence, and the color of the glass is the same throughout the body, even where the crackle effect occurs. In this vase, the 'cracks' are clear glass, so it appears that the cobalt blue glass is actually a thin layer applied over a clear body. Thus, I feel they are significantly different from other Kralik crackle vases, and will just go with calling them Bohemian for now.
