To continue in a recent blue theme, I was recently able to add this lovely Rindskopf vase to my collection. It stands 8.75" tall and is in a form with a bent lip that I have always admired. The vase feels so modern for something dating to about 1905! It has beautiful multi-colored pulled feathering down the sides - it is amazing to see how many colors they actually used. Rindskopf always has my heart when it comes to Bohemian glass. :)
Beautiful, so easy to understand why Rindskopf has your heart......
Thank you, sklo42! :)
Gorgeous colors and exquisite form, realy lovely..
Tomasz, I am glad you like it - thanks! :)
I am curious how this shade of blue and the iridescence of the surface compare to the crackle pair you posted?
This is a very striking piece.
Hi Craig, I just compared them all, and I have to say they are all pretty much the exact same shade of blue, at least to my eyes. The color of the iridescence is also very similar, but the crackle vases are shiny, while the Rindskopf pulled feather vase is matte. Thanks! :)
so simple after all! I love it
Great shape, lovely color! Thanks for sharing.
austrohungaro & Rick, thanks so much!
One thing I really like about this piece is the modernist feel to it. The piece looks like it could come out of a modern studio and be appropriate for the time..... yet this was made over 100 years ago. Colorful, yet clean and simplistic in it's approach... Understated and timeless elegance.
Craig, I couldn't have said it better. That is exactly how I feel about it, too. Thank you!
Beautiful addition Michelle!
yesterdaysglass, thank you! :)
Really lovely and so now!!!..:-)
Merry Christmas Michelle, I hope you and your family have a fabulous one!...:-)
inky, you are so sweet - thank you, and Merry Christmas to you and yours, as well! :)
Happy New Year and thanks for loves and comments
Kivatinitz, thank you, and happy New Year to you, too! :)
Happy New Year to you and yours, Michelle, and may you find more glass to delight the eyes in 2015.
sklo42, happy New Year to you, too! I am looking forward to seeing your new additions in 2015!
I agree with Welz an avangard item for its time
kivatinitz, thank you! :)
Thanks, Alfredo. I wish you luck in finding the 13" example.
Another stunner. Amazing its so old! Like others have said, from its style I'd have thought it was modern. It must have been very 'modern' for its time.
Fran, I think it must have been, too. That is one of the things I really like about Rindskopf - their forms are so creative and quite timeless. :)
