Need some help identifying this buckle please

The front side looks like a standard western themed buckle...but the back side has me baffled on how it would attach to belt and hook.

I would appreciate some help on trying to determine what this is and what kind of belt it would attach too...since there isn't any 'belt hole' post.

There are no markings or writing on it at all.

Silver color. about 3 1/4" long, 1 7/8" wide and the on loop on back is a bit under 1 1/4" wide.
