    (91 items)

I bought this today for $2. I thought it was black glass until I held it up to the sunlight. It glows a bright purple (pic 4). It has 3 mold marks on the sides. And a mark on the bottom that looks like two lines and part of a circle.

Anyone know anything about this vase? Thanks!

Thats a piece of Tiffin Glass! Black amethyst satin glass vase with raised poppy-like flowers. 1923-26 era.

That is beautiful, i have always found that most black glass is never really black but a dark purple? it must be a treatment in the process of makeing it.
    8. tikiray tikiray, 14 years ago
Thanks susan! To be honest, this is my first piece of "black" glass, so I know nothing about it. Now I have a new addiction. lol
    9. tikiray tikiray, 14 years ago
Great! Now I'm on the hunt for more Tiffin. LOL Are all collectors as addicted as I am?

YES!!!!! I have had a lot of great high's in my life but the best high I have ever found was that of collecting. And this is the addiction I wont get help for.

Cool, thanks for the link! The light idea is a good one. I would love to show off the amethyst color too.

Super link, i have book marked it, maybe we should form a collectors help group? What would we call it?
    15. tikiray tikiray, 14 years ago
We could call it "the blind leading the blind". lol

"Blond leading the Blond" what about us dark haired folk? CCA "Crazed Collectors Anonymous" is my suggestion. lol!

LOL My husband just had back surgery.... he's not going anywhere! Heck, he can't even make himself a sandwich.
    24. vintagemad vintagemad, 14 years ago
My husband cant make his own sandwich and he is in fine condition. Well he has not had any surgery. Hope your man recovers smoothly, and does not run you ragged.

You ever try JimmyJohns subs? Makes Subway taste like school lunch.
    26. tikiray tikiray, 14 years ago
LOL vintage! Too funny! My husband is the one that does all the cooking and he's been out of commission for almost 2 weeks now.... we're starving! heehee.

Hey AR, subway is icky! SubStation in NC is the best EVER, they cut your meat right in front of you when you make your order. Boy, do I ever miss that place. All we have in La is Subway. :(

McAlisters is pretty good. I've been there a few times. I like their tea and soup with the bread bowl.
