Very nice !#1 you have 1st Butterick girl they used so you need the next one which held up better and has different face , I do have to say I always thought #5 Singer mannequin was ugliest little mannequin made but her patterns and box with sewing machine are wonderful . Thanks for sharing them Skip :-)) Important mannequins to teach young girls to sew during WWII .
which one is butterick?
i totally agree - the singer is poorly designed - and she kind of has a pinhead!
are you still working on your book?
The first one is a Butterick skip and was also first one they used but restyled her in 40's to more a deco look and she holds up better .She came with butterick patterns while 3 in middle came with simplicity patterns and last is singer who also came with butterick patterns and lol she is like a cartoon tiny head ,long legs and rubber :-(
this is 2nd one skip

Your welcome skip and always a pleasure to see your posts !
thanks - are you still doing a book.. the 2 that i have are kind of weak !
I start and stop it is slow and I have to be in right frame of mind , however it would center a lot on Margit Nilsen mannequins . I have studied mannequins (Miniature) for 30 years and still have not seen them all . I agree the books are sparse but to photo and name so many that were done would be huge :-) I have posted another little one like your 12 1/2 inch size done by Helen Huntington Jones very rare I have had 2 sets in 30 years .
The other you need yet McCall's

I know this is a very old thread, not sure if it will get seen... but was hopeful for any information about these fashion dolls. I have just become the owner of 16 of them, and would love to know more about them!
