Found this at an estate sale and was wondering if anyone can help identify it's origin ??

Hey readers , I was wondering if anyone could tell me a little about this piece. It's not signed and has the strangest frame I've ever seen. It's like someone cut 4 2 by 2s out of a tree ( not sure what kind of tree:) and put them together to make it. It even smells like the forest . It's very cool and thought maybe someone recognizes what it is. Thanks so much for all your help. I've gotten amazing feedback on all the items I post and it's much appreciated .
