I found this old "deck chair"? in an old house slated for demolition. It was actually inside a detached garage on the property. This chair along with one other more "ornate" wood chair was in the garage along with an old rusty "tubular" brass bed looking bed, among other misc things including a lot of junk. The bed was super rough and while I brought it home, I trashed it a few weeks later because of lack of room. Knowing what I know now I should have kept it (the bed frame). I've seen chairs exactly like this one in an old movie version of the story about the sinking of the Titanic. What is unusual about this chair and the other one found at the same time was they both are very small chairs. As in maybe the home was a residence of "little people". Just don't know. The chairs are strong and both are missing a "round dowel rod" that makes them a bit wobbly but I'm a carpenter and know exactly how to fix them, it's just one of those things I haven't got around to just yet.

I've got a set of these and the rungs on the front of them were broken too I think it maybe people would hook their heels on that then put to much pressure on it and brake it. What does that other chair look like? The one you got with this one.

Oh I know. But it's always nice to dream and think just "what if"??. I actually have seen one of the authentic deck chairs from the titanic and there are surprisingly quite a few of them around. (maybe as many as a hundred) But there are possibly at least 100,000 people that would give their eye teeth to own one. After the ship went down, the two things that were in abundance that survived the wreck, were the deck chairs, and the life preservers. A maritime collector I know have one of each of these two really awesome, but morbid collector pieces. And you are also correct in that the ones from HMS Titanic are larger & much more ornate than this little guy. Thanks for taking the time to take a look and for making a comment.
