I'm posting this for my friend Andy in Europe. I have also seen this pitcher/metal handle combination in a dark glossy finish with gold pulled-feathers. Here are Andy's comments:
I have moved this pitcher from maker to maker for years. First, following an old attribution by Dorotheum Vienna and relying on its size, I thought it would be Rindskopf, who did produce aventurine pieces. But then, having seen the same pitcher with different, definitely non-Rindskopf designs, and consulting my fellow-collectors, it was moved to Poschinger, which again proved very questionable. Now for some time it has been Harrach, who did produce a line of such deep-green aventurine of exactly the same color and grain density. But I am open for any other (founded) suggestions.
WOW!
I have no idea who made this, but I do like it.
beautiful!! stunning!!!
