This is a great old weathervane which came from a barn in Maine. It is made of copper with embossed details, and the ears were seperately applied. The horse is a little over 2 feet long. The directionals are made of iron, and are attached to a 1 inch solid steel rod nearly 2 feet tall. The horse and directionals have a nice verdigris of seafoam green.
The shapes of most horses were derived from Currier & Ives prints of famous race horses, and each horse had it's own running style. This vane has character.

I enjoyed seeing and reading about this weathervane, especially since I think I have one very similar to this one. We found ours in a "junk shop" in Maine. Now I wonder if there is a value/price for this one? Please advice as maybe I should value mine more.
