I have here my Grandmothers antique Rose cut diamond ring. I love and admire this ring and am proud to say this is in my family, however, we can not date it and I would love to know about what era this comes from?
A jeweler would be able to loop it and tell you age and if it is a diamond better than a photo. You do not show side view to see setting . Very nice heirloom :-) Is it marked gold ? The bezel being a bit off looks like silver that hold stone .
Hello, the diamonds are real and the setting is platinum. I have tested the diamonds with a gemoro diamond tester and acid tested the ring for its purity.
The central diamond is far more antique than the mount, this particular rose cut is called "crowned rose cut" or "dutch cut" or "full holland cut".
For the mount, difficult to say without seeing all sides, but I have feeling of somewhere around 1935.
Very beautiful and rose cuts are starting to be cut again ,so many were lost when years later people had them re cut Glad to see yours was never was ~!
Beautiful!
