My first Satsuma Brooch I showed you already two years ago (see picture 4link: http://www.collectorsweekly.com/stories/85604-wonderful-antique-japanese-satsuma-brooc ) .
This brooch pin is a long oval Japanese Satsuma pin dating to late 19th c. Hand painted in gold with a coiled dragon in traditional Japanese style. These were usually belt buckles when they were made, and converted to a pin.It has the characteristic cream color and fine crackle in the porcelain. The back is stamped with the cross within a circle mark. This is the Shimazu mon or the family crest of the clan that ruled Satsuma. The back could be silver but I didn't tested yet. Black and gold border has only a bit of wear, otherwise in very good condition. Oval shape 5 cm by 2 cm.
