Hi,
I found this back in the late 1980's in Queensland Australia,
I realised back then that it was a keeper but never really knew what it was I think it is an early CB radio.
Inside of the box is 3 compartments 1 for the radio 2 for the headphones (missing) & 3 for the microphone (missing)
I do have several paper licences for the operation of this radio but have misplaced them about 15yrs ago so I hope they turn up.
Does anybody know this radio and so some history I would like to have it restored as much as possible but I think that would be a huge job as most of the parts valves/headphones/microphone etc. probably don't exist anymore.

Probably more like "Amateur Radio" (HAM)... CB did not require a license, just an identification document that was issued by the FCC. CB could only operate in the 27MHz rage with the 40 channels provided.
HAM did require a license and a passing of a FCC Test before the license was granted by the FCC.. Operation of HAM was a much broader spectrum and was allow more wattage. Thus allowing a HAM to reach-out and communicate with people global...
Nice find.. Looks to have some real age to it...
I'm thinking that it could be a high frequency radio, popular & necessary in the outback.
