    This is a photo of my husband's grandmother, uncle, and father. It's a picture postcard and a no-brainer as far as the date and location! Even though it doesn't look like they were having fun (why don't folks in old photos ever smile?) I'm sure they did have fun. My father-in-law (right) would have been about 9 years old and his brother 6 years old. Does anyone know what pier is in the background?

      Getting your picture taken was serious business, that's why they didn't smile.
      The pier may be this one ( it was damaged by a runaway barge in 1926 & rebuilt in 1927);

      Thank you Sean68, and thanks, walksoftly, for the information and link. I believe you're right about the pier!

      I don't have anything like this in my collection--so for me, it is pretty unusual.
      I really like it.
