Purchased and old Singer pedal sewing machine at a yard sale, because I loved the look of the metal base and the drawers. Took the drawers from the machine stripped off the old finish and attached them together. Used the wood from the top of the sewing cabinet for the top. Had it cut to size, routed the edge to make a top, then refinished the piece. The metal base will be used for a table, I'm currently hunting for the right old piece of lumber to make the table top.

Really nice idea, & it worked out beautifully. I give you a 9 1/2 for creative!

Thanks - can't take full credit for the idea. About 20 years ago my mom ran an antique shop, she would make all sorts of items out of worn out or damaged items she would find. That is where I got the idea. I have just carried on the tradition of finding beauty in items that many people would toss in the dump.

Well, we give her credit for a clever idea.
